Cool Books

This collection of both Christian and secular books influenced much of my life and personal growth.  I prefer books that don’t beat around the bush.  If you like my blog, check these books out too:

Wild at Heart by John Eldridge

Teaches about God’s view of all things manly and helps you discover your purpose.

A Million Miles in a Thousand Years by Donald Miller

Contains Donald Miller’s story of meeting his father and how the mentoring project began.  Make your life an interesting story as well.

Dark Night of the Soul by Saint John of the Cross

If you’re being tested spiritually, this book can help you.  Warning, very heavy reading.  It’s a project to read, but well worth it.

Mastery by George Leonard

How to embrace the process.  Martial arts wisdom applied to life.

Four-Hour Work Week by Tim Ferris

Sell your material junk and go travel?  Hmm Different prosperity teaching than what I’d heard before, and it intrigued me.  This is about entrepreneurship, efficiency, tech and travel in the 21st century.  It’s teaches to use wealth to achieve dreams and purpose rather than gather more “stuff”.  It stretches your thinking, and forces you to ask the hard questions about the usual working life.  I think there are kingdom principles to be gained if you look enough.
